Drawings

Pity I can't give out any Christmas-themed ones here (yet). Those for whom they are might see them too early. So just a little one. Drawing is so relaxing and reassuring!

Would love to see more of your drawings. Question, whose picture is that above on your header? (the last one). I love it!!!

It's Carl Larsson's portrait of his oldest daughter Susanna, he was a Swedish artist who lived about a hundred years ago. I have an album of his pictures at home and think them absolutely endearing. He mostly drew Love the technique too: black ink contours and the delicate colouring.

I'll put the Christmas drawings up later maybe, when I am sure everyone already received their pieces :-) Not to spoil the surprise!

I've seen the perfect flower, and it's really something unbelievably tender and beautiful! Looks exotic for me! And the hummingbird! I have never seen a real one :-)

Goodness, I seem to have caught a (bad) cold! But I still have to go to the Uni, for none else has the test papers!

There is no hummingbirds there where you live? Or is it that you just didn't have the luck to see one? Anyway, they are difficult to see, mostly they need certain kinds of flowers, they are attracted to red ones specially but the flowers need to be of a certain shape so they can "drink inside of them", like happened on this video. And secondly, they are sooooo fast they may come and go in a few seconds... I'm still waiting to catch another (not literally, lol!) so I can take some good pictures as I did with the butterflies. I'll keep trying..

Indeed, no hummingbirds here. Thez sound reallz exotic to me!
It just ocurred to me that I actuallz HAVE seen a hummingbird once - in the Vienna Zoo!

Carl Larssson is wonderful, love the themes and the technique. No wonder that thez remind me of Astrid Lindgren`s books& also Swedish and cosy.
